Assisted Hours
Assisted Hours: 2 hours
Assisted Studio Hours are designed for makers who have some experience but want a little extra guidance while getting back into the flow. These sessions offer more support than a drop-in, but less structure than a full class.
Bring your own project, work at your own pace, and receive hands-on help as needed with tools, technique refreshers, troubleshooting, or next-step direction. It’s a supportive space for rusty beginners and returning students.
Perfect for continuing a project, practicing skills, or easing back into the studio with an experienced instructor nearby.
What’s Included:
Tools and equipment
Solder, flux, and basic consumable
Occasional guidance and reminders from the instructor
Independent work time with safety supervision nearby
Not Included:
Stones, metal, wire, or other project materials
Instruction in new techniques
Detailed design planning or step-by-step project guidance
*** If you are looking to learn new techniques or develop a project design, please consider enrolling in a CORE class or the Jewelry Design Workshop.
*** If you would like to purchase silver, stones, or sheet metal, we carry a modest selection in-house for convenience and the ability to see and handle materials before purchasing.

Fix-It Repair Workshop Part 1
Fix-It Repair Lab
Bring in broken, unworn, or well-loved jewelry and explore what is possible through repair, reinforcement, or creative repurposing. In this lab-style session, students work with their own pieces while learning practical repair techniques and problem-solving strategies.
Each class is shaped by the objects participants bring. Some pieces may require simple fixes such as replacing clasps or repairing chains, while others may invite small design changes or thoughtful reinforcement. When a project reaches a step that requires specialized execution, the instructor may step in to complete that portion while explaining the process.
This class approaches jewelry through restoration rather than replacement, offering a practical look at how pieces are constructed and how they can be repaired or reimagined.
Techniques Covered:
Diagnosing common jewelry repair issues
Chain and clasp repair
Reinforcing weak connections and findings
Basic soldering for repair work
Problem-solving and repurposing existing pieces
Materials:
Students bring their own jewelry for repair. Repair materials and consumables are included. Replacement findings or additional materials like jump rings, epoxy, and other links to complete the task at hand.
Skill Level:
Beginner to intermediate. No prior metalsmithing experience required.
Schedule:
This workshop is 6 hours total, divided into 2 sessions.
What You’ll Leave With:
Repaired or refreshed jewelry pieces and a practical understanding of common jewelry repair techniques.
*** Please note: This workshop is intended for lower stakes jewelry repairs and projects. High-value heirlooms or complex stone-setting work are better suited for dedicated jewelry retail/repair shops. Please email the studio with questions at info@springsjewelrystudio.com.
