Homeschool Teen Metalsmithing Workshop

This hands-on workshop introduces teens to the fundamentals of metalsmithing in a creative studio environment. Students will learn to work with metal using traditional jewelry tools and techniques while creating a finished project they can wear home.

Projects vary by session but may include creating two stacking rings or forging a hammered cuff bracelet. Each project is designed to introduce core jewelry skills while allowing room for creativity and personal design choices.

Project Examples:

  • 2 hammered stacker rings

  • Hammered and formed cuff bracelet

Techniques Covered:

  • Measuring and cutting metal

  • Annealing

  • Basic soldering

  • Hammering and forming

  • Filing and finishing

Materials:
Base materials are included. Students may work with copper or brass, with the option to upgrade to sterling silver when available.

Skill Level:
Beginner. No prior metalsmithing experience required.

Schedule:
This workshop is 2 hours.

What the Student Leaves With:
A finished jewelry project and an introduction to foundational metalsmithing techniques.
