Riveting Bracelets: Unhinged Workshop
Explore the world of mechanical connections by crafting a custom hinged brass bracelet. In this workshop, students will learn to fabricate "cold connection" joins—specifically a functional hinge and a secure click-clasp—without the use soldering.
Through precision drilling and riveting, you will create moving components to ensure your bracelet is both durable and aligned. Students will work in brass for its strength and endurance in moving mechanisms.
Techniques Covered:
Drilling with a flex shaft
Fabricating functional rivets
Creating a tension-fit click clasp
Metal forming and shaping
Filing, sanding, and surface finishing
