CORE: Earring Design & Stone Setting Workshop

Design and create a pair of custom earrings while learning several essential metalsmithing techniques. In this hands-on class, students will work with a brass rectangle base and add two decorative design elements.

You’ll also learn how to tube set a 5 mm cabochon in a sterling silver setting, creating a beautiful focal point for your earrings.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a finished pair of earrings and experience with foundational jewelry techniques.

Techniques Covered:

  • Tube setting a 5mm cabochon

  • Step-by-step soldering

  • Design and layout

  • Filing and finishing

  • Making or attaching ear wires

Materials:

Brass and sterling silver materials are included. A selection of cabochons will be available for students to choose from.

Students may choose at checkout to upgrade to an all sterling silver experience for their project.

Skill Level:

Beginner to intermediate. No prior metalsmithing experience required.

Schedule:

This workshop is 6 hours total, divided into two evening sessions.
